The Shirt
The image pretty much says it all. Brancato sent me the link to the shirt. I’m definately ordering one. If only I didn’t think some guy would be an asshole and try starting a fight because his hippy vegan GF is offended, I’d probably wear it out to a bar.

The Philidelphia police have teamed up with the 76ers to launch a new program aimed at getting guns off of the streets. For one week only, trade in your glock for some prime limited upper deck seating. Police Commissioner Sylvester M. Johnson commented, “”If this program brings one gun, it’s a success. Any gun that can kill is a gun that needs to be taken off the streets.” Of course I agree with this statement but my prediction is that this program will get exactly one gun off of the street, and that it will be Allen Iverson’s. Anyone know where I can get a cheap gun?

There’s always cool stuff going on if you live the urban life, especially if your rockin’ a brain that digs science. Examples? Check out Glowlab’s news blog, they have a ton of great urban based project links all the time. As a bonus most are attempting to make some sort of social impact, like the shelter in a cart. The above picture is from the instructables website, which has instructions to make your own LED throwies for urban graffiti.

Want to know how to make your bike spokes into crazy patterns or a skateboard you can tow at high speed? Maybe even make square holes in aluminum sheet metal? (Who knows why.) Makezine’s got all that and more. The print magazine is somewhat expensive, but they do publish a bunch of their stuff on the web. The projects can be pretty far out there, but they tend to be pretty interesting at least. They even show you how to play video’s on an old non-video iPod… nifty.

Can anyone point me to some good music or video mashups? I have listened to a ton of these tracks in the last year and have to say that 90 percent are absolutely junk. If the brain trust known as the McCrappy community can not point out some good links then this genre has no chance.
Here is one video I came across that I thought was pretty sweet… Green-Oasis

They’re premiering a new exhibition at Gallery Katz in the south end. The artist is Christopher Santer, and his work really goes out to all you civil engineers. It’s an interesting study in the forms of highway overpasses. Check it out here , they’re also having a reception tomorrow, February 4th from 3 to 5. Here’s the link to the Gallery Website.

Okay people… get your asses over to the Red Sox website and fill out this raffle form to enter three random drawings. First drawing is for Red Sox / Yankees games, second is for Monster Seats, and the third is for right field roof deck. If anyone happens to win these tickets, don’t forget your friendly neighborhood blogger
I thought we were living the bad ass party life in Allston, but apparently we got nothing on the current residents. A FedEx guy was making a late night delivery to a house in Brighton that was throwing a rager. Instead of offering him a signature and a PBR, the guests thought it was a good idea to harass him and chase the poor fucker away. Well if you didn’t know, a scorned FedEx worker is force to be reckoned with. He called the cops on the folks throwing the party.
”Officers went to the home and found 20 kegs of beer, a live band playing in the living room, guests vomiting in the kitchen, and several overcrowded rooms throughout the house.”
Story Here.
