Right after canniabals, this comes in at #56.
With 5/6ths of it going to the The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. 85% is roughly equal to $37 billion.
Wow.

Let’s vote! Who thinks Ron Burgundy should be the official mascott for McCrappy.com? If you disagree, you have to provide an alternative. Participate in this please – we need a mascot.
I will list the titles here, but there is more to read on the site.
There is a goldmine of stuff here to comment on… someone get it going.
The folks at New Scientist must not have had anything better to write about…. talk about giving way too much attention to the obvious:
“The best way to win an online auction is to wait until the very last moment before making a bid in the hope no one else will have time to respond.
This strategy is already practised by many auction aficionados and is known as “sniping”. Now a mathematical analysis by researchers from Seoul National University in Korea has confirmed that it gives the best chance of winning.” (Link)
This came across their “Breaking News” feed – awesome.
So Gabe and I just put in applications on an apartment that might be our total undoing. The apartment comes with free admission to a bar that has live music 7 days a week and half price meals mon-fri. If we get this apartment it has every chance of consuming me. On the plus side, it has a huge deck, overlooking Davis Sq, big enough to hold 20 people fairly easily. Its about 35 feet from the T, and the landlord seems awesome. Added benefit, I will be saving money over my current place. I will keep you posted if we get it and when the first party will be.
Here’s a good one:
“He’s my soulmate. I know he is. He’s also married to the wrong person. I waited for him my entire life. He wants to continue to drag his heels and waste my time. I’m tired of being the spiritual, patient one in this karmic situation. He’s not even my physical type, the bastard. So starting today, I’m going to go out and get MYSELF a Tracey. By tonight I’m going to spread my legs wide for the next man who comes along, give it to him with all I’ve got, and enthusiastically marry the wrong person. I hope when “soulmate” meets me I have three or so kids by whoever this wrong person is, and I intend to rub it in his face and not give him the time of day. Fuck you, Jon.”

I was pretty far away, as can be seen by the circle I drew around Petty. That was ok because there were a ton of screens. Stevie Nicks came out for a couple songs. I will never miss another Tom Petty show. These guys completely rocked out Great Woods on the first night of summer no less. Sooo much fun!

What a great idea!

Ok, so I’m heading to Tom Petty and Trey Anastasio by myself this Wednesday (first day of summer!!). One more time… Someone get a ticket through craigslist… they are floating around, and meet me at Great Woods.
Anyway, I’m having that party in Newport with the cruise to Block Island on July 1st, and then on July 3rd, Phil and the above plays in Hartford, CT. The next day would be the 4th, meaning no work so you could sleep at my place on the night of the 3rd. Then Phil plays Great Woods July 6th, which I’m considering going to as an alternate date. So we could party real well from the 1st through the 4th… What a week! Is anyone planning to go to either of these Phil shows? I’d like to see the Hartford show on the 3rd.
Muse is playing the Fleet Boston Pavillion the first week in August. Tickets go on sale tomorrow, I’m getting 4 if they let me, who wants to see them? Quite possibly one of the best live bands I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen alot. Only thing I’m weary about is the outdoor venue. Every time I’ve seen them they’ve been in a club like Avalon, which really lets them crank up the volume and energy. Should still be a great show though.
This being my first post, I thought I would inform you all of something of the utmost importance to our well-being. There is a straight-to-DVD sequel of Anchorman called Wake Up, Ron Burgandy: The Lost Movie. See the info on imdb.
Apparently, the original movie was very ad-lib so many scenes were thrown away and this is more or less a compilation of unused scenes pieced together with the attempt to form a logical plot. Plot or no plot, that first movie Fing ruled. And if you are not a fan, you simply don’t enjoy great comedic performances and I will fight you. Rumor is that they re-released the DVD as a double disc set of both movies.
And here is a taste.
Hey, I got one ticket off Craigslist for $40. Is anyone else going? Someone find a ticket and meet me there, I bet it’s gonna be an awesome show. Seriously, someone get a ticket and come with me.
