Ok so there is a slight change of plans. It won’t be the 14th. Justin got a new job that was basically impossible to turn down (big raise). The good news, he now works for the Venitian, the bad news, he couldn’t get Vaca to come back to MA on the 14th. So it will be probably in early August. I’ll let you guys know as I hear things.
There always seems to be some interest in knowing how popular mccrappy is, and although we’re no google, we do seem to be on the up slope. We’re averaging about 25,000 page requests per month, which is a pretty healthy figure for a 38th tier blog. Our best week so far was the week ending April 22nd, when 8700 pages were sent out. You can see in the graph that over the last year, minus some volatility, we’ve been growing. The numbers on the y axis are actually the number of requests, which is much higher than the actual page requests. Once that number hits 2 million we’ll go public with McCrappy…

This family converted a bus into a full time 300 square foot motor home. Here the guy describes how he worked out the electrical needs for the bus. There is also a day by day recap of their activities from the moment they bought the bus, to having it totally ready for travel. Cool people, and a cool project for sure, but I was most interested in how he determined the number of batteries he needed, how to charge them, alternative energy schemes, etc…

Sorry for a second post, but I wanted to let people know I sent out an evite for the Booze Cruise. Please forward to anyone you think may be interested. Thanks, and I hope to see a bunch of you on Saturday. Even some of you Mainers (Keith) should consider coming down. You can come down the night before if you’d like.

Hello citizens of McCrappy!! I just sent out the invite for the Canoe trip. The weekend is July 21st, Hopefully I let enough folks know about the date beforehand so that you were able to plan accordingly. In any case, here is the link to the evite. As all past canoers know, the trip is highly dependent on the weather, so please be prepared to rock out come rain or shine. Also, please let folks know about it who are not on the list if you think they would be interested.

Turned out the picture was too big to read directly on McCrappy, so just click it instead. As if that weren’t obviated by the blue outline.
Hey All, with the wedding around the corner my buddy Jeremy is pulling together some plans for a night out next Saturday (7/7). Some disc golf in the day, dinner/pool in the evening, and then it’s on a party bus around Boston for some good times. Anyone interested who hasn’t been contacted by Jeremy yet, feel free to drop him an e-mail (jeremytravinski at hotmail). Because of limited bus capacity issues he needs to know beforehand who’s in so getting in touch soon would be best.
Before I left for Costa Rica, I had intended on sending out an evite for the Booze Cruise. Since it is this weekend, I was wondering who was actually interested in coming down. I’m not sure it is going to be a large group like last year, but if there is still interest, I will certainly organize meeting up and then host the after party. I’m wondering what the potential plans are for this weekend and if I should still send out an evite. If you still want to come, please leave a comment saying so. I’m sure we can get a solid 5 or 10 people (less than the 20 we had last year), which would still be super fun, though I’m not sure an evite is totally appropriate. Any thoughts?
Just checked the weather: IT IS GOING TO BE BEAUTIFUL. Cruising with 1$ drafts, sunny weather, beer, food, singing, etc… Who’s in?
Hello,
some of you may have noticed that Josh hasn’t posted anything recently. Strange, considering his use/abuse of McCrappy in the past. I just heard a rumor that Josh actually had his testicles and fingers removed by Costa Rican warlords when he tried to buy a double water bottle fannypack from them. His fingers were reattached in a nearby blackmarket hospital hut, but the resulting infections have prevented him from typing anything on a computer. The testicles, unfortunately, could not be saved.
This tragedy should not be ignored, we must pull together as a whole to support Josh in this time of crisis. All comments/condolences/jokes can go to joshua.wakefield (at) gmail.com.
UPDATE: Greg was emailed a hostage picture!!

ESPN.com is running a pretty decent back-and-forth article with 12 rounds of MMA vs Boxing. Any thoughts on which side is the victor?
On a serious side note – does anyone really care about boxing any more?

So we had a trivia competition versus a team from Clark University on Saturday, sort of a meeting of the minds from Worcester schools. The WPI team consisted of three smaller teams of three people each, one team to play Trivial Pursuit (Yakov, Adam and Greg), one team to play Cranium (Eric, Aaron and I) and one team to play a random game (Rob, Cheeko and Brian) selected by the bartender the day of, which turned out to be Taboo. All the games were pretty close, but we won TP and Cranium, and lost Taboo by a hair. So we get the trophy!!! Much celebration ensued. Later in the evening, Eric and I took Trophy on a little tour of Providence nightlife.

I’m too lazy to write a long post, so I’ll just say that its an Opera Damon Albern created based on the Monkey character off the second Gorillaz CD. I thought it looked pretty sweet, even though its only playing in Europe at the moment. The Monkey track is the one that Dennis Hopper did the narration on.
It looks like this guy’s been taking his crack at “bennettism” a little more seriously that I did.

This is absolutely mind blowing.
Not only did he do Rome, he did Tokyo.
Insane.
