Just interesting
Of course we all knew this before…but these photos were particularly interesting to me. Not even going to get into it…y’all can imagine what I think…

Also…notice how we stuck it to those Communist Pigs in 1954…HA!!!
Versions of the Pledge:
- 1892 to 1923: “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”
- 1923 to 1954: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”
- 1954 to Present: “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands: one Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

Eh the salute thing doesn’t really surprise me. Nor do I really think most people with half a brain care either way. As it mentions the salute goes back over 2000 years, and it used all over the place besides by the Nazis.
The wording part is more interesting. I do find it interesting that it was a socialist who created it, and now we’re having measures like this proposed:

I’d be curious what the whole point to changing it in 1954 was. Besides the satanic communists that is. I mean seemed perfectly fine before then.
The addition of “under God” was an initiative initially sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. They petitioned congress and, eventually, with help, were successful in getting congress to agree to the change.

According to Eisenhower, who signed the bill into law:
“These words [“under God”] will remind Americans that despite our great physical strength we must remain humble. They will help us to keep constantly in our minds and hearts the spiritual and moral principles which alone give dignity to man, and upon which our way of life is founded.”
Well, “under god” is needed, isn’t it? I mean, where would we be without god? That’s right you non-believer, the answer is nowhere except hell.
Geez cheeko, wake up! You better repent now, or face the consequences. Or, you can pull a Bart and go for the presto-change-o deathbed repentance. That’s my plan anyway.
That’s just risk mitigation there, dacunha.
If there IS a god, we wouldn’t want him to think that we viewed ourselves as being ‘above god’, now would we? And if there ISN’T a god, well then it’s just a fun collection of stories that people can embrace as truth to help them in their every day lives without any negative repercussion whatsoever! Right? Right? …. Bueller?
